Since 2014, nearly $1 billion in incentives have been awarded under Illinois Reimagining Energy and Vehicles program to businesses that offer electric vehicles and renewable energy production. This month, DCEO also granted PsiQuantum Manufacturing with an incentive package of more than $200 million to build a modern facility in East Alton.

Governor JB Pritzker joined representatives from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network and local officials today in Chicago to officially launch CZ Biohub Chicago - a innovative research hub that is at the forefront of leading scientific research. The initiative will bring together University of Chicago, Urbana-Champaign State University (UIUC) and Northwestern University researchers to study the development of human tissues as well in developing revolutionary therapeutics.

Governor JB Pritzker and Flender Corporation recently announced they are expanding their current factory in Elgin that will result in 50 full-time positions while keeping the 140 full-time jobs they have currently.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Southern Illinois University is funded by a co-operative agreement among U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University. The Center offers local entrepreneurs with assistance in beginning or press release images expanding their business through services such as free workshops on business planning individual counseling sessions with expert Business Advisors as well as access to financing opportunities.

State officials in Indiana are informing employers to provide higher salaries and benefits as a method of keeping child care workers in the country and facing a lack of work. The move comes after the closing of a child care center located in Bronzeville which struggled to retain employees.

Illinois Department of Labor also launched an online tool designed to help small businesses understand labor laws. Employers can search using keywords or browse categories on this website; and connect with state agencies and information sources.
